Part 1: Property Virgin

I bought my first house when I was working in Langkawi back in 2014. I didn't really plan to buy property in Langkawi since my husband is in Puncak Alam. So, we're basically look forward to buy our home in Selangor/Putrajaya.

But, I guess, it's my rezeki to get the opportunity to buy a house in Langkawi since it's actually an offer from my previous company selling their asset (house) at a very low price - it is one of staffs' privileges.

After discussed with husband and my parents, they said "why not". So yeah, I bought that house as an asset and we're planning to make it as a homestay. Homestay in Langkawi? Ka-ching! ka-ching! ka-ching!

However, due to some unexpected circumstances that we have to use the 'modal'/money for other important things (priority-wise), we end up rent the house.

After a year plus now, staying and living together with my husband in Selangor, my parents urged me to buy our own house instead paying the rent for RM900 per month. They see it as a huge waste of money to spend on rent.

I do and totally agree with my parents (my mom specifically whom very persistent pushed me) to buy our own house but considering the house price in current market particularly in Selangor/Putrajaya area which is VERY VERY VERY high, I need more time to survey and ensure that we (hubs and I) not spending so much money for our dream home.

So, there's one day the ad of 'selling-property' pop-up in my Facebook which surprisingly I found the price is within our budget. And as much as I thought it was nothing more than just a scam but still, I without delay filled the form given.

And the day after, the agent called me.

He asked and gave us 3 days to pay RM10k for the booking fees.

RM10k!!!

RM10,000.00 to just BOOK that house!!! Otherwise, we'll going to lose it.

So, here are the tricks;
  1. Don't get panic
  2. Don't get over-excited
  3. Don't rush
  4. Don't fool yourself

We talked and shared with lots of people (i.e.: family, friends and of course our neighbor too)

Apparently, it is not something unusual or strange to pay RM10k for the booking fees because it depends on the;
1) house price and
2) developer

So, what we did was; we went to the developer's office to get the confirmation and figure out either the project is truly exist.

Fortunately, they do have the project and not launch it yet. (well, that supposed to mean - you have the ADVANTAGE!)

*Info sharing: The price before launch day is cheaper than after

After long discussion and talk with the developer, we somehow have agreed to buy that house. Gulp!

And now, we've gone through (not even half of the process yet) the following steps;
  1. Choose/select the house lot - corner of course
  2. Pay the booking fees - RM10k to the developer by bank draft
  3. (After launch) Pay 10% deposit from the house price - which in our case, RM10k have deducted from the 10% deposit and just pay the balance of it.
  4. Sign the S&P
  5. To receive S&P copies for the next step; to apply home loan. (And here, we are now)
....................

In the meantime, let's pray the process of our home loan goes smoothly and successfully approved. Aminnnnn.

Countdown is ON!!

Omg! Omg! OH-MY-GOD!!!
Three days to go to my semi-big-day!!
*goosebumps*

I'm over excited to share and write everything here; I wish I could do it everyday! But neah, how would I? Am too busy on getting the preparations done especially in the daytime. So here I am - writing in the middle of the night. pffft.

Anyhow, talking about the preparations ... breath in-breath out ... are well underway.
(I believe)

Y'know that we bought a special book to plan our big-day (i.e.: engagement, solemnization and reception) right? Yeah, am a teeny bit anxious on that. It's a safe step to keep me away from the bridezilla-wannabe zone anyway. But rest assured, I'm fine as long as they're done on-time! ;)

So, let's keep track it down!

  • Pelamin Booked
  • Photographer Booked
  • Attire Fitting-done
  • Hair & Make Up Booked
  • Hand Bouquet Aya's Favor
  • Hantaran 70% bought
  • Hantaran Trays Booked
  • Catering Booked
  • Canopies Booked
  • Door Gifts 90% Bought
  • Ring Bought!

It looks pretty good I must say yet, I still feel panicky and lots of anxiety! >.<"

So long angels.

Counting Days

Dear Incik Pensyarah,

Until the day we meet again... Is the day I get closer to you.

Another absolutely perfect day! In sha Allah.. =)

p/s: Yeah, this is the 'plan' that I've mentioned before.

Towards the Plan

We meet again, December. Yeaaaaaay!

December always sounds interesting kan? =D Anyway, I'm so thanking The Lord for all happiness and blessings that keep me through the year. I can't express in words all of the things I'm thankful for. This month, there shall be an even better one right around the corner. I just can't wait! =)

I believe my close friends and relatives are well informed about the 'plan' that we have made. And that's what actually family and I are working on; doing some home renovations. It's an old house that Abah bought it somewhere in 1980s. In view of the fact that Abah has to transfer and stay in Langkawi, he rent out the house.

Since Abah is now about to retire and planning to settle down in Alor Star soon, my parents make home improvement. This project has started since 2 months ago (approximately) and it's 80% complete!

The project of home improvement includes;
  1. Ceiling replacement
  2. Repairing plumbing and electrical systems
  3. Extending house with living room and bath room
  4. Doors, windows and lighting replacement
  5. Install floor tile

(Large frame) First hall that has been extended and new windows replaced.
(Vertical frame) Second living room and new ceiling replaced.
(Small frame) Repairing electrical systems.
Taken during Raya Haji.
Disarranged second living room with new lighting

Basically bedrooms are all okay and living rooms (first and second) are so perfect! We're now waiting for the kitchen and bathrooms to be done.

Kitchen part; our designer promise will be ready to install the cabinet in two weeks. I hope they will keep their promise as we're running out of time. While bathrooms are almost done with doors, walls, ceiling, simple repairs and touch-ups (including painting).

Pray to God that they will complete and finish it at the very least, a week before the date of the 'plan'. Because we still have lots of boxes to be unpacked and organized them. Truth be told, I can't afford to get things done at the last minute cause I have a lot on my plate currently. *fingers crossed*
