Flashback

The Year of Pink (Before Pink Was Cool)

Back in 2003, pink wasn’t the it color for teenagers, at least not where I grew up in the north. Even for babies, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Unlike today, finding anything cute and fancy in pink was like searching for a needle in a haystack. 

My parents went above and beyond to fuel my pink obsession. We combed through big malls from Kedah to Perlis just to find pink sports shoes and school bags. In the end, I scored three different pink school bags and obviously, I was beyond grateful!

And that year, I was in Form 4 and had just transferred to a standard co-ed high school from an all-girls’ school. 

Fun fact: I ended up hopping between three different schools throughout my high school years.

My reason for switching schools? I wanted to feel like a "normal" student for once. Since Standard 5, I’d been donning different colored uniforms for roles like school librarian, prefect or whatever position I held each year until Form 3. Then, I’d had enough. I wanted those last two years of high school to just be. No different colored uniforms. No extra responsibilities. Just me in a regular school uniform blending into the crowd. Well, trying to blend in, anyway. Hence at my final stop, I had one goal - to keep a low profile and enjoy being a “normal” student.

Here’s the twist: I was absolutely obsessed with pink. And when I say obsessed, I mean everything I owned was pink; stationery, sports shoes, school bag, you name it. I was a walking, talking pink explosion, head to toe.

And that's pretty much how Yat started to call me Pinky. To her, and probably everyone else - I must’ve seemed so bold for rocking pink in school. Me? I didn’t think much of it. I was just living my pink dream, blissfully unaware that it was turning heads. Typical me, being a little naïve but totally owning my vibe. 

Looking back, it’s funny to realize how that simple color made such a statement without me even trying - something I only just found out during my recent staycation with Yat. Cause it never crossed my mind that having all-pink stuff in high school back then might seem a little out of the ordinary.

And thankfully, such attention didn’t translate into making me a school prefect again! At least, I achieved my goal, though staying low-key might have been a stretch. 😁

When Pink Took a Backseat in My Wardrobe

By the end of my Degree years, I started phasing out my pink collection and exploring other colors. I shifted towards mustard and gold accessories, color-blocking styles, navy blue, army green and eventually earthy tones. Little did I realize, my wardrobe no longer had a single pink outfit. Not one. 

No kidding!

It only hit me when the girls started planning our staycation last year and suggested matching outfits in pink. I actually had to go out and buy something pink just for that reason! They couldn’t believe I didn’t already have at least one pink item in my closet. 

Well, I guess it’s just part of adulting.

As a mother of two daughters, I thought I’d pass on my pink obsession to them, but surprise, surprise, they’re not that into it. In fact, they don't have a strong attachment to any one color (yet). 

I showed a picture of my old bedroom at my parents' house and their immediate reaction was, "Wow, your room is so pink!" 😅

Even with only a sprinkle of pink in my life, my BFFs still stick to calling me Pinky. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😊

Forever Best Friend

First and foremost, Happy Eid al-Adha everyone. May all your sacrifices are accepted by Allah s.w.t and you're showered upon by His love and blessings. 

Anyways, am updating this; exclusively for my one and forever bestfriend, Aida. I did blog about her a couple of times in my blog. She used to be my roommate for almost every semesters during Diploma in UiTM Jengka, Pahang. Even though we're not in the same course during Degree but we still making time for each other to meet up.

And we keep doing that until now. ;)

She's like my sister; the one who'll stick together through my thick and thin. And yes, she do act like my sister bila tiap kali kuar mesti dia yg nk belanja. Sampai salesgirl pun tanya ktorg adik-bradik or kwn sbb tgk dia bayar suma untuk I. Mana ada bestfriend nk bayar suma beli barang, makan, tgk movie, etc. Ada? Tak ada.. Aida sorg je.. =p

She bought me all these. Gorgeous, aren't they?

So many laughs through the years, and a few stories I hope no one hears, I'll always be by your side, best friends forever till the day we die.

Weekends Buzz

As I remembered, my last time had manicure and pedicure session was two months ago when I tagged Aida along. Since then, I hardly have time to indulge myself due to work demand. 

So, I promise myself to;

1. Have mani n pedi session
2. Shop in Juicy Couture
3. Get Fossil watch
4. Look over my car
5. Grab a book

Proudly to tell that am successfully made it! *Only for mani & pedi and a new book. =.=

What happened to the rest?

Apparently, I need to forget them. Cos money that I planned to use for all listed above has been used to buy new cell phone. sigh sigh sigh. My phone has been stolen. Damn.

The good thing is: It's a wake up call for me to be more-extra-cautious with people whenever step out from home.

The bad thing is: Am officially broke! f**k

So, that's how I end my tragically November. pffft.

Hello December

*please be good to me*

We all know current phenomenon is Ombak Rindu. I read the novel when I was in form 3. Right finished the novel, am hoping that someone will film the story. Surprisingly, someone did!! Tell me how I can miss to watch it??? I wanna watch it badly. SO BAD.

And December? Just like November, they didn't treat me well!!! I missed to watch Ombak Rindu last weekend. Full House. Full House. Full House. Front Sit. DAMN.

In order to chill myself up, together with ms Bestie, YaT, we spend the whole day chit-chatting and cam-whoring. teheee~ =DD Nothing could treat me better than that. *wink*

And yeah, not to forget.. Shopping as well. ngeee~

Ingat tak, in my previous entry I pernah mentioned yg I tak suka citer genre thriller/action kan.. Tapi lately nie, I byk lak tgk action movie.. Huu~ I sendiri pun macam tak boleh caya.. heh. I tak berani nk byk songeh kan sbb org yg belanja.. ngee~ So, redha je la.. Tp bila da abesh tgk, I macam, "eh not bad?"  heee~ citer2 yg I tgk tue mmg a bit brutal to me tp since time part bunuh2 tue takde shot yg close-up sgt kan.. So, I cm boleh jugak la nk tgk.. Though ada gak certain part, I akan tutup mata bila part yg sgt gruesome... Klau setakat scene tembak2, I ok lagi.. Jgn close-up part tikam2 ke, cungkil biji mata ke, etc.. tue memang too much for me 😖

Ouh, John Travolta.. He's so funny dlm citer nie.. Muka da ganas abesh, tp kelakar.. So, I tak la stress sgt kn.. Seriously, I macam terjatuh chenta lak kt cter nie.. ngee~

Hero citer nie - chummel! geessh~ Mcm besh gak citer nie even geli je tgk kepala Uma Thurman.. huu~ Again, I enjoy watched diz movie.. =DD

Last but not least, Solomon Kane.. Ouh, hero tue yg macho n sgt style time lawan. hee~ Wat else I can say, simply love it! 

Insan2 yg berhati mulia belanje I tgk wayang mmg besh. Cm tau2 je I ngah broke + stress N at d same time ada hati nk enjoy jugak.. Sbb... I need it. I need to go out, I need to stop thinking bout asmnt for a sec, I need time for myself! eh, termemberontak pulak 😁 Thx to Que n Wan.. =DD Ampa mmg terbaek la!

Que - Kawan I since dari sekolah rendah lg.. Sama2 satu class dr standard 6 (if I'm not mistaken) sampai form 1 (cause form 2 I da pindah sekolah) Time sekolah, tak de la close sgt.. I pernah slapped him masa form 1 dulu.. huhuhu.. (tak tau die still ingat ke tak.. hopefully die da lupa..🙈sbb lps tu I rasa guilty sgt kt die..😞) Reason y, sbb die bising dalam class. Sebagai seorang ketua kelas merangkap prefect sekolah yang berdedikasi (ewahhh), I mmg allergic sikit ngan bising yg terlampau.. Especially if its girls, lagi super annoyed. Takde class! sorry terkutuk.. ngee~ Ogey, back to Que.. Ktorg start jumpa blk bila dah sambung degree kt S.Alam.. Then we started to be good friends. He's a very nice guy.. Die la jugak guardian I kat sini bila bf I takde.. Time nak blk Langkawi, die kena temankan (mind u, I have terrible sense of direction) So, die kena teman.. Otherwise, I mmg akan sesat. huhuhu.. Die bg option kt I, "Nk aku belanja makan ke movie?" heh. Kenapa tak boleh blanje 2-2 ea?? So, die belanja I tgk Percy Jackson n blablabla tue.. hehehe.. Thx buddy!😉

Wan - Diz lil guy, I dah anggap mcm abg sendiri.. Though die kecik comey n tak layak nampk macam abg pon tp since he's older than me so, I respect him mcm abg I sendri.. hehehe.. Takde duit, die la kasi pinjam.. Takde duit nak mkn, die bawa kuar belanja mkn.. Takde kredit, kasi topup.. Ouh, he's so kind.. I started rapat dengan die masa I masuk S.Alam jugak.. Then, sekarang die dah grad.. Dah keje dah pon, That's y die senang hati menolong I in terms of financial support.. He always says, "Faham student's life camne.. Slalu takde duit.." baek kn die?
